Christmas and New Year have been both family and international occasions for me. I have my nephew from England staying, my son came from Sydney, and a friend of his from Brazil. There were 10 for Christmas Day evening meal and it felt like I was back in my childhood when all the rellies used to come to Grandma's and we would have up to 25 at the table for Christmas celebrations. This would be the biggest Christmas my family has had for years.
Boxing Day saw many of us on Rottnest - boy, was it hot! Snorkling, swimming and eating - great activities.
Since then I've just read, slept, played jigsaws on the internet, been out with the visitors and generally relaxed, which brings me to doing this blog as I thought I should start trying to catch up with Web2.0.
I have found the process of creating the blog quite simple but am at a bit of a loss as to what to post. So here goes a few comments:
- I enjoyed looking at the blog pages of other libraries and can see their use in keeping in touch with clients
- I am hoping that Web 2.0 will teach me the fundamentals of the latest types of internet communication
- Personally, I think I'd rather read a good book anyday, but for those who don't read books (and I am constantly surprised at how many people this is) it is a valid form of literature. People are still reading and communicating and participating in the world - all good things in my book (ha ha).
That's enough for my first time. Think I'll read a few of the other blogs now and find out other people's ideas and experiences.
Bye for now

Welcome fellow blogger and good luck with the course. It looks and sounds like you had a fabulous Christmas. It would have been so relaxing just chilling out at Rottnest the next day.
